New Assets role confirmed at Midlands housing association

One of the Midlands largest housing associations has announced a new senior appointment.

Platform Housing Group has confirmed the appointment of Steve Eaves as Director of Assets, Regeneration and Sustainability.

The move will see the Regeneration team – which is currently made up of four colleagues – move from Growth and Development – the directorate which deals with affordable homes for customers, from sourcing land and making deals with developers, to delivering and selling new homes – into the Assets directorate, following Steve’s temporary role working across the two functions.

Aligning these teams will mean an even more strategic focus on work to assess and improve Platform’s homes, allowing the Group to achieve its long term strategic assets goals.

Steve explained:

“Since we began looking at how the Assets side of our organisation functions, it has become clear how aligned our goals in Regeneration are with those of the Strategic Asset team, so I’m excited to take on this role and bring the two together.  As we continue to assess and evaluate our properties, we can make more informed decisions on the homes and facilities we provide for our customers and the work that needs doing to improve them where we need to.  I am looking forward to working on projects that will deliver real results for our customers.”

Gerraint Oakley, Executive Director for Growth and Development at Platform Housing Group said:

“This move will only serve to greater align the work that Steve and his team have been doing over the past couple of years with the Assets team and I know everyone involved will want to make it a success.  I am confident this move will strengthen the work they deliver for both the organisation and, crucially, for our customers.”

The Regeneration team managed by Steve Eaves is made up of Rob Main, Head of Regeneration and two Regeneration Project Managers, Samantha Keenan and Chris Hutton.
