From humble beginnings in the Cooper family’s garage to a turnover of almost £15 million during 2022/23, WMS underfloor heating is celebrating 20 years in business and its sustained commitment to thrive together with customers.
Founded in 2003, the Hertfordshire-headquartered company is now one of the UK’s leading suppliers and installers of underfloor heating systems for new build developments in the UK.
WMS has evolved from a start-up in the family garage to installing more than 24 million metres of its sustainable PERT (polyethylene of raised temperature resistance) underfloor heating pipe throughout the UK – enough pipe to reach more than halfway around the equator. As WMS enters its third decade, this journey will continue, as will its mission to support the industry by delivering an unbeatable combination of design, reliability and service.
The business now has 20 years of experience designing, supplying and installing low-temperature heating systems and over a decade of working with air source heat pumps (ASHPs). The team are passionate about sharing their specialist knowledge, bespoke CPD course and market-leading solutions, enabling the industry to confidently plan for a low-carbon future.
As well as being continually committed to customers, WMS has supported various charities during the past two decades, donating £85k last year alone to a number of charities close to the hearts of the founders and employees.
WMS’ Managing Director, Ashley Cooper, reflects on the last two decades and leading the company he co-founded: “Celebrating ‘WMS at 20’ is an incredible moment. I’m so privileged to have such an awesome team to work with. They, along with our customers, have made it possible to develop and grow the business to where we are today, and we have ambitions to double our business in the next three years.
“The industry is experiencing a huge period of change to meet the new low-temperature heating requirements, and it’s never been more important for new build heating systems to work in harmony. We’re committed to sharing our experience for the good of our customers, their brand, renewable and low-carbon technology and most importantly, household energy bills.
“Throughout our 20-year history, we have built countless strong customer relationships, and we thank everyone we’ve worked with for being part of our story so far. It’s been a pleasure to involve longstanding customers in our ‘WMS at 20’ celebrations and hear from them why WMS can be relied upon to deliver the best solutions.
“Ultimately, our customer’s project success is our business, and that ethos is embedded in every decision we make, customer interaction we have and metre of pipe we install. Here’s to the next 20 years and beyond, where we’ll continue to take pride in thriving together with customers.”
