Leading British ventilation manufacturer Vent-Axia has launched its new Lo-Carbon Revive 7 fan raising the bar on energy efficiency for social housing providers. Designed to meet the specific needs of the social housing sector this next generation of the popular Revive 7 filter-less unitary fan offers greater efficiency, near silent operation, a slimmer profile, all with the same great performance and in line with the updated Part F of the Building Regulations. This gives social housing landlords confidence that the new Lo-Carbon Revive 7 can tackle the issues of condensation and mould, while improving the efficiency of housing stock and comfort for residents. Meanwhile, its new slimmer profile means the Revive 7 is even easier to install in a wider range of locations.
With Awaab’s Law on the horizon social housing providers are taking action to ensure they have measures in place to effectively combat the risks of condensation and mould. Vent-Axia’s Lo-Carbon Revive 7 has already proved successful in tackling this problem, with the new improved fan offering the same powerful performance as previous models but operating at only 19W. This figure equates to as little as an estimated £3 a year to run1 keeping costs down for residents while also cutting carbon emissions for landlords.
To achieve these higher efficiencies and low sound power levels the new closed grille Lo-Carbon Revive 7 has been engineered with cutting-edge technology. Following extensive R&D the Revive 7 now features patented inlet guide vanes and a circumferential turbulator design, as well as a new highly efficient, quiet impeller. This revolutionary airway pathway design promotes turbulent airflow, allowing a predictable performance curve and ensuring performance can be met efficiently in line with Part F of the Building Regulations.
As well as being energy efficient, the Lo-Carbon Revive’s ground-breaking design means it is near silent, which enhances resident comfort and also helps deter tampering with the fan, since noisy fans can be turned off by residents. This improvement is due to a number of innovations including the Revive’s new impeller; and the fan’s bellmouth design which draws air fluidly and silently into the fan via the side rather than the front, ensuring high air flows with a flat tile cover. In addition, the Revive’s 12-pole motor keeps noise to a minimum while retaining premium motor life and energy efficiency.

Not only has the new Revive’s efficiency been improved, but the fan’s aesthetics have also changed since it has been redesigned to be 12% smaller. The Revive’s new slimmer profile means it is even easier for social housing landlords to install the fan in wider range of applications. It could be especially useful for window applications since the slimmer profile means it may not interfere with window blinds, improving resident satisfaction.
Offering flexible positioning the new updated Revive 7 comes with the same IPX4 rating for wall and ceiling mounting. It is also available as a SELV model, boasting a new transformer which is more compact and around half the size and weight of previous units, making siting easier.
A truly universal fan, the intelligent Lo-Carbon Revive 7 includes an adjustable trickle speed option, an interchangeable intermittent mode and smoother humidity boost transition. This extra functionality in the software means even greater flexibility, so installers need just one fan for their van. In addition, the new and improved Revive 7 now offers the option to adjust the trickle speed between 6-16l/s, with a boost to 18/l/s. This is useful in properties with exceptionally high occupancy that would require a higher trickle speed to remove excess moisture from the air and provide good Indoor Air Quality (IAQ).
Meanwhile, the Revive7’s mixed flow technology maximises air flow on trickle, avoiding unnecessary boosting thus increasing resident acceptability. Similarly Vent-Axia’s ambient response humidity sensor avoids nuisance tripping while protecting properties from damaging condensation and mould.
Highly versatile, the Revive offers a choice of run speeds for multiple installation options and can be ducted or through the wall, making specification easy. It has smart features such as a duct mode that enables the fan to achieve excellent air performance on very long duct runs, while not over-ventilating on short runs, ensuring efficiency.
Plus the Revive 7 is low maintenance since its market-leading Multi-Vortex™ technology does not require a filter, while the highly sculpted interior actively repels dust, avoiding clogging, thus helping to avoid call backs. Revive 7 also boasts reliability backed by up to seven years’ warranty.
Featuring Smart Sense™ intelligent technology, Revive 7 is quick and easy to install with the fan featuring a simple alpha numeric LED display, which is clear and easy to read and uses a three-button menu for commissioning and data gathering. Smart Sense™ technology even tells the LED display which orientation to use depending on whether it is wall or ceiling mounted, saving time on site and reducing installation complications.
Revive 7’s Smart Sense™ also includes a datalogger which tracks fan usage to ensure it is used as intended. Social housing landlords can then interrogate the fan on how many days it has been on humidity boost mode, pull cord boost mode or trickle, helping them build a profile of resident activity and aids them in investigating any humidity problems, allowing them to work with residents to ensure a healthy indoor environment.
In line with Vent-Axia’s sustainability commitments, as well as the new Lo-Carbon Revive 7 offering energy savings for social housing landlords the unit’s embodied energy is also lower due to a 12% reduction in the unit’s size, thus reducing materials used and so reducing packaging.
