A new affordable housing development in Lincolnshire has been delivered to Platform Housing Group, featuring a cluster of homes built to exceed the 2025 Future Homes Standard.
The site at London Road in Kirton has 41 homes in total, six of which are built using LoCAL Homes’ Eco200 panelised system and include air source heat pumps, solar panels, triple glazing and thermal flooring.
Development began back in 2022 when a system using woodcrete framework blocks called Durisol was earmarked for the six units. During the build, Durisol went into administration so an alternative was agreed with LoCAL Homes to use their Eco200 system combined with various energy efficient features.
At a recent event celebrating completion of the site, Platform Housing Group’s Chief Executive Elizabeth Froude commented on the achievement of delivering the homes.
She said:
“This scheme has allowed us to really shape what future homes look like. Those standards combined with our own Platform Standard create an aspiration of affordable housing that we are very proud of. The homes on this development show us what we can achieve when working with great partners like Burmor and LoCAL Homes. Like all social landlords we are here for the long term and we don’t want to be building homes that will cost our customers more to run or that we’ll have to retrofit soon after. It has been great seeing people move into such wonderful homes and witnessing the impact it’s having on their way of life.”

Platform is also currently developing another site on London Road where 68 homes will be delivered by the end of 2026.
