Midland’s housing association recruits new property Managing Director

One of the Midland’s largest housing associations has announced a new senior appointment.

Platform Housing Group has confirmed the appointment of Alan Hayward as Managing Director of Platform Property Care.

The role will see Alan responsible for overseeing the seamless delivery of reactive, planned and compliance repairs in the social landlord’s existing homes, as well as focusing on the customer journey.

Alan has more than 25 years of experience in construction services, facilities management and housing; his previous roles include senior positions for Carillion PLC, Morgan Sindall, joint ventures and national joint venture Boards.

Alan said:

“I am delighted to be joining Platform Housing Group.  I believe that the property maintenance arms of housing associations like Platform are in a unique position, with our operatives having direct access to our customers within their homes.  Although delivering repairs is a key element of what we do, our responsibility extends further to ensure we provide extra help to our customers when they need it.”

Alan – who lives in the West Midlands – has a strong financial and commercial background and will bring that skillset to his new role.

Elizabeth Froude, Chief Executive Officer at Platform Housing Group said:

“We are delighted to welcome Alan to Platform.  His experience in property maintenance and business transformation will be of real benefit to our property maintenance company and crucially, to our customers who live in the homes we provide.”

Platform Property Care – a subsidiary of Platform Housing Group – employs more than 900 colleagues; the Group homes more than 120,000 people across the Midlands from Herefordshire in the West to the Lincolnshire coast in the East, and from the Derbyshire Dales in the North to the Cotswolds in the South.  It manages around 50,000 homes.
